Ledger Lore
Plan your game's world, characters and story in one place.
For game developers, and for writers and first-time designers who want a guided start.
Actively being worked on. We're building this right now. Features and details on this page may change as we go.
The problem, and how Ledger Lore helps
The problem
Characters, places, family trees and story ideas end up scattered across notes, docs and sketchbooks. It's hard to keep track of who is connected to whom, and how your scenes fit together.
The solution
Ledger Lore puts it all in one place: a codex, a relationship map, an idea board, a storyboard and a sketchpad. Everything links together, so a character you draw can show up in your codex, on your map and in your scenes.
What Ledger Lore does
Codex of your world
Keep every character, place and faction in one searchable list, with portraits, guided prompts and tags.
Relationship map
See how everyone connects on a drag-and-drop map, and arrange families into a family tree with one click.
Idea board
Pin sticky notes and images on an open canvas. Drag pictures in or paste them.
Storyboard
Plan scenes shot by shot, with shot types, captions, images and the characters in each panel.
Sketchpad
Draw characters with pen, marker and mirror mode, use proportion guides or trace a reference, then use the drawing as a portrait or panel.
Private by default
Your lore stays on your device, works offline, and can be saved to a folder or exported as a file.
Part of the Lore suite
Ledger Lore and Sentinel Lore are built to work side by side for storytellers.
Three steps
Start a new game from scratch, or explore the example world, “The Saltglass Reach.”
Add characters, places and ideas, then connect them, sketch them and storyboard your scenes.
Everything saves on your device. Export a .lore file anytime to back up or share.
Common questions
Where is my lore saved?
On your own device, in your browser by default. You can also choose a folder on your computer, like your game's project folder.
Do I need an account?
No. Just open it and start.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. Once it's installed, it works without an internet connection.
How do I back up or move my work?
Export a game as a .lore file and import it anywhere. Importing always creates a new game and never overwrites one.
I'm new to writing lore. Is this for me?
Yes. Guided mode shows tips and prompts on every screen. Experienced users can switch to Advanced mode for custom fields and shortcuts.
Privacy at a glance
- No account needed
- We don't collect your writing or images; they stay on your device
- No AI, analytics or tracking
- Delete any game in the app, or clear your browser data to remove everything
Good to know
Export a .lore backup now and then, since browsers can occasionally clear stored data. Saving to a folder works in Chrome-based browsers like Chrome and Edge.
